How to Style a Luxury Photo Booth

To style a luxury photo booth, start with a clear brief: the photographs you want, the space you can use and the details that need to match your event. Then agree the backdrop, photo layout and any separate décor around the selected booth. Good styling supports the photography and guest experience; it does not replace them.

MooMuu does not supply props. The advice below is about coordinating your booth setup. Any accessories you wish to bring yourself should be discussed in advance, and inspiration images should not be treated as a list of included items.

1. Put your visual brief on one page

Choose a few reference images and explain what you like about each: the portrait finish, background colour, lighting or printed keepsake. Add your venue, date or approximate timing and guest numbers. For a wedding, names, stationery and the colour palette can guide the photo layout. For a company event, include the brand guidelines and campaign objective.

A short, specific brief is easier to work from than a large collection of unrelated images. Separate essential details from ideas you are happy to adapt.

2. Select the experience before the décor

The Luxury Oak Booth and ICON Booth offer photographic portraits and prints. The Signature Glam Booth is a hosted black-and-white portrait experience with controlled studio lighting. The Digital Booth is print-free and normally self-service.

3. Mark out the working area

Share a floor plan showing furniture, doors and the proposed position. Allow for equipment, lighting, backdrop supports, people posing and guests waiting. ICON also needs access to its rear gallery. Keep any print collection or booked guest book area separate from the posing space.

Confirm the delivery route and the times available for installation and collection. If the room changes between ceremony, dinner and evening reception, agree when the booth area becomes available. Use our venue-matching checklist before finalising the decorative details.

4. Coordinate the backdrop and lighting

The background must work in the camera view, not just look good from the entrance. Discuss group sizes, windows and nearby coloured lighting. For Signature Glam, keep the controlled lighting setup central to the plan rather than adding decorative lighting that changes the portrait finish.

Ask which backdrops are available with your chosen package. A large freestanding backdrop is not included as standard with the Digital Booth. 5. Approve the details guests will see

Check the names, event date, spelling, colours and logo on the proposed photo layout. Review it at the intended output size so that small text remains readable. A design for a print and a digital image may need different layouts; confirm the outputs you have requested.

Decide whether you need separate signage and who will supply it. Branded wraps, physical signs and custom structures are not automatically included because a print layout is personalised. Keep the written quote clear about each item.

6. Confirm responsibilities before the event

Give the venue, planner and any stylist the same approved layout. List who supplies, installs and removes each decorative item, and agree the setup windows. Do not attach anything to venue fittings without permission or add decorations that obstruct the booth equipment.
