How Long Should a Wedding Photo Booth Run?

Start with the hours your guests will actually be free to enjoy the booth. MooMuu’s current comparison-page starting packages include three hours, but the right operating window depends on your running order, chosen experience and agreed package.

Three hours is a planning reference, not a guarantee that every guest will take part. A well-timed session can be more useful than a longer hire that overlaps with dinner or speeches.

Start with your wedding running order

Mark dinner, speeches, the first dance, evening food and the arrival of evening guests. Look for a window when people can visit the booth without missing something important. After the first dance is one option, not a rule for every wedding.

Consider guests who may leave early and anyone who needs more time or assistance. Keep participation optional. Give the booth a visible position near the celebration, with room for people to approach, pose and collect their photographs.

Separate setup, guest time and collection

For illustration, an agreed 8pm–11pm operating window could suit a reception whose formalities finish before 8pm. It would need three separate arrangements:

• Before opening: agree access for delivery, installation and testing with MooMuu and the venue.
• 8pm–11pm: the agreed hours when guests can use the booth in this example.
• After closing: agree the collection window and route, including any venue restrictions.

This is an example, not a standard timetable or a promise of early setup. Ask how any waiting time, pauses or split operating periods would be quoted. A delayed start does not automatically mean a later finish.

Plan for visits, not just the guest count

Share day and evening guest numbers, arrival times and any short periods when everyone becomes free together. A steady flow over three hours is different from a rush during one brief break. Repeat visits also use time.

Allow for your chosen experience

Do not assume digital delivery makes every visit quicker. Group size, posing, sharing choices and connectivity can all affect the guest journey. If you want a photo guest book, include time and space for the additional photograph and message, with the arrangements confirmed in your quote.

When to ask about a shorter or longer hire

A shorter window may suit a focused part of the reception, but confirm which durations are available for your chosen product. It leaves less room for late speeches, queues or guests arriving after the start. A two-hour option should not be assumed to be available.

A longer operating period may help when guests arrive in stages, several rooms are in use or you want time for return visits. Choose extra hours when people can actually participate. Availability, staffing, additional cost and the venue’s closing time must be agreed; extensions are not automatic.

Confirm the schedule before booking
